This 8 inch extended hydraulic closer kit is a complete door closer for both laundry and trash chutes. It ships with the closer plus the mounting hardware, so you get everything needed to complete the repair in one package.
How the Extended Hydraulic Closer Works
This hydraulic shock helps the intake door return to a closed position after use. As a result, it keeps the door from being left open. Moreover, a working closer supports building cleanliness and safety on busy chute doors.
Dimensions
The thick cylinder shaft measures 8 inches long, with a 1 inch diameter on the thick part. The thin rod measures 5/16 inch in width and extends to 4-3/4 inches on its own. From one end of the center clevis to the other center pin fitting, it measures 12-13/16 inches fully extended. Please compare these figures to your current closer before you order.
What Is Included
This kit includes everything shown in the photo: one (1) bracket, two (2) pivot pins, one (1) coupling, one (1) Tinnerman nut, and one (1) rivet. Many manufactured doors use it, including US Chutes part number ID-06E. Therefore, it fits a wide range of common chute door setups.
