This laundry chute fusible link is a heat sensitive replacement part for counter balance discharge doors on laundry chute systems. During normal use, the link helps hold the counter balanced discharge door in its set position. When heat from a fire reaches the rated temperature, the link separates. As a result, the door is released and closes on its own. In this way, the laundry chute fusible link helps the discharge door act as a fire barrier at the base of the chute.
